Those splendorous strawberry sundaes can only mean one thing...It's EKKA time!!!

This year more than 400,000 people will converge on the RNA showgrounds to celebrate the 138th EKKA (August 7-16) - a showcase of the best of the best, the great state of Queensland has to offer. 

Chock full of award winning wines, cheeses, and fresh produce...EKKA is a foodie's playground! So much to see & devour....but where to begin??? 

As always, we've got you covered with the ultimate foodie's guide to EKKA 2015! Word to the wise, bring your stretchy pants because this is going to be one hell of a cheat day...


Aspiring chefs, foodies, and home cooks should make their way to the Royal Queensland Food & Wine Show Stage. Join some of Australia's most talented chefs on a culinary adventure showcasing the nation's finest food & flavours. 

The stage will be hosted by the incredible Dominique Rizzo, one of Queensland's leading female chefs. Learn useful tips & tricks in the kitchen from a seasoned pro. Visitors will all have the opportunity to taste some of Dominique's delectable creations. 

This year, the cooking stage is all about the 'paddock to plate' philosophy. Rizzo's classes will utilize RQFWS champion cheeses, beef, beer, wines and ciders. 


Bring on the food coma! The WoolsWorth Pavilion will be tasting central! Get ready to be spoiled with a plethora of wines, meats, cheeses, and sweets available to taste and purchase.

Enjoy a mouth-watering selection of new and exciting fresh foods from the Woolworths produce, meat, bakery, seafood, deli departments. Bring the kids along to enjoy a FREE daily cooking classes and crafting activities, or mum and dad can enjoy Jamie Oliver inspired recipe demonstrations or have a chat to one of the local growers. 

Sampling will be available 9am - 7.30pm daily, so bring your taste buds.

After a big day of exploring, relax and enjoy a mouthwatering meal in the Gourmet Plaza. The Gourmet Plaza will be bursting with flavours from all over the world! Eat like a king at very affordable prices.

The Royal Queensland Steakhouse is bringing a taste of the good life to EKKA. Australia's best steaks, wines, cheeses, sourced directly from the RNA's prestigious Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show will be on the menu at EKKA's fine dining restaurant! 

The menu is simply sensational featuring Mooloolaba king prawns, beef carpaccio with truffle oil, award winning Waygu with shiraz jus and chargrilled tomatos, and vanilla bean cheese cake served with salated caramel ice cream that's sure to impress!

Last year, the restaurant served over 3,000 award winning steaks to EKKA guests. It definitely deserves a spot at the top of your 'MUST EAT' list for EKKA 2015. 


It's wouldn't be EKKA without the famous strawberry sundaes!!! Let's get something straight...this isn't a request, it's an order. You cannot leave the RNA showgrounds without trying one of these incredible strawberry cones...

24,000 tonnes of strawberry and vanilla ice-cream will be supplied by Brisbane based gourmet ice creamery Lick. On average 145,000 sundaes are sold each year. The ice-cream is 100 percent natural with no additive or preservative. Even better, the funds raised from the sale of the ice cream helps support the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation. That's right folks, this ice cream is completely guilt free. INDULGE!

Available for $5.00 every day of the show.
