Brisbane's First Cheese Themed Restaurant Opens

Sweet Cheesus...Queensland's first licensed fromagerie opened today and to say we are excited about it is a huge understatement...

Fromage the Cow will now call Milton's iconic Park Road home and we are expecting one hell of a line up with every single menu offering (yes you read correctly!) being based around glorious CHEESE! The restaurant will also feature a lovely wine bar and cheese flights. It's almost to gouda to be true!

The menu features mouthwatering dishes like twice baked cheese souffle...creamy crab risotto...Grain Fed Sirloin w roast garlic mash, whipped gorgonzola, braised kale + red wine jus...Fondue for 2 (Barossa Valley camembert baked inside a sourdough cobb w crudités), the Fromage signature cheese platter for dessert!

Breakfast is also available with the restaurant serving up delicious treats from their takeaway coffee window (we hear the cheese toastie is legendary).

Check it out yourself, Fromage the Cow is just a short walk from Brisbane's Effiel Tower and is now open Monday to Saturday from 7am.

Food Therapy | An Evening of Flavour and Philanthropy

Six magnificent courses by Brisbane's top chefs with all proceeds going to an extremely worthy cause...

Food Therapy taking place on Thursday June 9 is set to be the dining event of the year with three of Brisbane's iconic restaurants Gerard's Bistro, Blackbird, and Stokehouse Q joining forces to raise funds for Beyond Blue in a very delicious way.

The event will feature six courses designed and cooked by Brisbane’s leading Head Chefs (who between boast a swag of awards) – Ben Williamson of Gerard’s Bistro, Jake Nicolson of Blackbird and Matt Wood of Stokehouse Q – plus raffles, auctions and games throughout the evening.

The dinner was the brainchild of Stokehouse General Manager, Peter McMahon, who was looking for an opportunity to give back while collaborating with other prominent restaurants in Brisbane and celebrating the city’s brilliant and thriving food scene.

As for the charity, McMahon said, “Actually it was Jake’s idea. We had a discussion about mental illness; it’s something that I think touches us all – especially in the hospitality industry.  The stress, hours, and lifestyle of working under intense pressure in restaurants is all too often the perfect storm for mental illness, and all too often it’s also unseen in the workplace.”

At $250 a ticket, all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to beyondblue plus any additional funds raised from raffles and the major auction.

To add of bit of dramatic flare to the evening all courses will be a secret until they hit the table! But we aren't worried, anything Williamson, Nicolson and Wood put out is sure to be sensational!

Thursday June 9, 2016 at Stokehouse Q, South Bank
$250pp – all proceeds donated to beyondblue
